Creatively exploring the spaces between people, places, and products.

Visual communication has been a form of expression for me as long as I can remember, it was just called drawing to me back then.  The ability to visualize an idea in my head into something more tangible gave me immense satisfaction. That early development led me to study industrial design at the Art Center College of Design in California where I gained structure and deeper insight in visual communication.  Since graduating, I have worked for over a decade designing footwear and accessories for US, European, and Asian markets.  Through the experience of large established brands like Ralph Lauren and Cole Haan, along with small hot brands like Alexander Wang, I have gained a wide breadth of design skills and a strong understanding of how adaptable the R&D process has to be depending on business size, market, and resources.  Innovation and manufacturing processes is what really excites me, but I am always trying to balance that perspective of what is beyond the horizon with the daily executions needed from the product creation division of an organization.

I am always seeking that mindful balance.  I balance my design profession with being an active participant in the world.  Whether I am traveling the world to surf, explore terrain, eat or endlessly experimenting in my kitchen, I am actively refreshing my experiences.  Drawing, food, and sports has always been a part of my life and I am lucky enough to seamlessly fold them into my professional design life.
